The Douglas County Board of Commissioners unanimously denied Foxhall’s request to guarantee $15 million in infrastructure bonds for their project. The BOC was also asked by Foxhall to amend the structure of the 2016 agreement to allow them an option on a 99 year lease on the conference center from the Development Authority.  You may recall that the 2016 agreement abated property tax on Foxhall’s proposed hotel and conference center 100% for a period of 30 years.  The BOC denied this request also but did amend the 2016 agreement by inserting a sunset date….giving Foxhall 120 days to get necessary funding to complete the project.  The original agreement, which I never supported from the beginning, did not designate a sunset date.
